Pollution in the Great Barrier Reef

Our group is investigating pollution in the GBR.
The Great Barrier Reef is the coral and all the animals that live in the reefs.
Today we discovered that there are different ways that human pollute the ocean:

Pollution:
Fertilizers and pesticides
Runoff
Sedimentation

To stop the pollution, we are going to look into each one of these in the next weeks before we present the video, and come up with ways that we can stop the pollution.

We have already come up with a few ways that us as a class can stop the pollution:
Put rubbish in the bin and recycling so it doesn't end up going down the sewers and into the ocean. Don't leave plastic bags around when your at the beach- turtles can eat them because they think they are jelly fish and then die. If you go out on a boat, don't drop anything in the water!

We will look at what farmers can do to reduce pollution with fertilisers and pesticides next lesson.

Save The Great Barrier Reef

We discovered that there are many factors in saving the Great Barrier Reef.
Some of these are
-Overfishing
-Predator Loss
-Climate Change
-Pollution
-Habitat Destruction
